We accompany people with intellectual disabilities in building their full life project, through an individualized methodology that offers the necessary support for their social and labour insertion. The strategy seeks to optimize learning so that it is directly applied in daily life, thus favoring full and effective inclusion.
Based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, signed on December 13th, 2006, at the UN headquarters in New York, we have highlighted some articles:
Article 19: The right to live independently and be included in the community.
Article 24: The right to inclusive education at all levels, throughout their lives.
Article 27: The right to work, and the freedom to choose an occupation.

INITIAL PROGRAM
This is for young people between the ages of 16 and 21, who are studying academic training (TPP, STI, STI, IVTC, etc.). We offer them support in their process of independence and maturity, as well as in their transition to adult, working life, complementing their school, and training.
We work in small groups, of between 4 and 6 people who have similar profiles, where they can share interests, motivations and concerns related to the stage of life they are all currently in.

EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
This is for people 18 years of age or older who have completed their training and would like to join the working world.
The objective is social and labour inclusion in regular companies following the “Supported Employment” methodology.
It is a methodology that adapts to each person, offering a personalized, customized plan and the necessary support to be able to achieve, consolidate, maintain, and advance in their job.
Throughout the process, their independence should be promoted and respected, whilst providing the necessary support to enhance:
- Responsibility
- Commitment
- Decision making
- Motivation to work.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
This is training aimed at people looking for work. A personalized plan is agreed upon and sessions are held where participants work on transversal and professional skills, as well as other aspects that can help them mature and be more independent. Based on the individual’s professional profile, a suitable job is sought.
LEARNING AND PLACEMENT PATHWAYS
This is the beginning of the participant’s work experience within the company, with the support of a job coach, accompanying the individual throughout the inclusion process. Intensive monitoring is carried out within the company as well as weekly follow-up sessions in Aura, both in groups and individually.
CONSOLIDATION PATHWAYS
When a certain stability has been achieved in the company, the intensity of the job coach’s monitoring decreases, unless there is a specific need. There are monthly, one-to-one, follow-up sessions at Aura with the job coach.
DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS
When participants are already working in a stable way, they still have the support of the job coach, who they can request at any time, so that they can consolidate, reaffirm, and readjust their acquired knowledge. At this stage, the development of the person within the company will also be considered.
With the support of the SIOAS 2024 Program No. exp.: STC068/24/000021 Comprehensive services of guidance, accompaniment, and support for the insertion of people with disabilities and/or mental illness.

VITAL PROGRAM
This is a program that offers a suitable space for Aura Foundation’s participants who, due to different circumstances, have had to interrupt their working life, either temporarily or permanently.
This program offers support and attention adapted to the needs of the participants, through activities that optimise their physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being.
It promotes active and healthy aging, as well as encouraging better quality of life.

TRAINING PROGRAMS
This is a program for people over the age of 18 who want to continue training to improve and acquire new digital and cognitive skills (NeuronUp program), as well as skills related to autonomy, languages, and effective communication. This program is directed towards people who want to further their personal and professional growth.
AURA offers a range of training on a quarterly basis.
At Aura Foundation we seek a person-centred learning model that is global, diversifying training into 5 competences, providing a broad and diverse response to our participants’ needs and requests:
- Core Competencies
- Autonomy Competencies
- Digital Skills
- Wellbeing Competencies
- Creative Competencies

INDEPENDENT LIVING
AURA’s Independent Living program offers personalized support so that each person can carry out their Life project in accordance with a model of rights and inclusion within the community, strengthening their personal development, their autonomy, their emotional well-being and their roots and relationship with their environment.
We work together with the participants and their families to offer the best support plan.
The program is structured into two options:
Aura Habitat
Learning apartments– temporary stays that facilitate learning and autonomy in the process towards Independent Living. Participants share a flat with student volunteers.
Home Support:
A support service for people living independently who need professional support in some aspects of their personal lives.
Transversal services.
We have other transversal services that adapt to the needs of each participant and their families, guaranteeing comprehensive support and continuous improvement in their development and well-being.

The Neuropsychological Service of the Aura Foundation is based on the study and monitoring of the neuropsychological characteristics of the participants. We use the Neuropsychological Evaluation (NPE) to evaluate cognitive, behavioural, and emotional indicators, which allows us to detect and prevent changes. In addition, we apply cognitive stimulation programs with the aim of maintaining or enhancing the abilities of the participants.

The aim of the Support Services for families is to accompany the families of people with intellectual disabilities in their life project. This service offers a wide range of specific support, including spaces for accompaniment, guidance, assistance, and advice, adapted to the needs of each family.

“The CLUB” is a space for reflection and debate made up of people with intellectual disabilities during the transition to their adult life. The program includes debates, social activities, and cultural outings, which seek to encourage participation, learning and contact with other groups, along with the support of professionals and volunteers.
